Business System Analyst

A Business System Analyst analyzes a real or hypothetical organization or business domain and documents its business processes, assessing the business model or its integration with technology.

Business System Analyst Position Prerequisites:

  • All candidates should have a valid work authorization. ​
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • F1 students with OPT are also eligible to apply.​

Business System Analyst Position Job Duties:

Note: The following duties are typical of those performed by a business analyst. A Business System Analyst may not necessarily perform all of the duties listed.

  • Defines and documents customer business functions and processes.
  • Consults with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
  • Organizes requirements and develops or compiles business documentation pertaining to the requirements.
  • Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants and other governmental organizations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of case management systems to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems
  • Develops training curriculum and conducts formal training sessions covering assigned systems module.
  • Provides work direction to one or more technical or clerical staff or acts as a team lead on designated projects or assignments.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed
    • Functional requirements
    • Write Business Requirements Document
    • Use Cases
    • GUI, Screen and Interface designs
  • Ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.
  • Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Plans, organizes and conducts business process re-engineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews.
  • Researches and prepares statistical reports using data from court computer systems and internal surveys. Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making.
  • Assists in developing an overall change management strategy for the court.11. Conducts change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes and documents court business rules, functions and requirements.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
  • Provides technical assistance in training, mentoring, and coaching professional and technical staff.
  • Utilize your experience in using enterprise‐wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding
  • A Business System Analyst should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts.​
